Dr. Sigsbert Rwiza
Assistant Manager- Financial Services Innovations and Technologies, at Bank of Tanzania
Dr. Sigsbert Rwiza is the Assistant Manager Financial Services Technologies and Innovations at the Bank of Tanzania and mainly coordinates activities related with inclusive digital financial services in the country. He is a Certified Risk Manager and for the past decade, he has been dealing with management of risks in central banking systems. Based on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 31000 Risk Management workflow, he developed a secure model for tracking creation of mobile money in the country in order to manage risks during creation of mobile money using Mobile Network operator (MNO) financial service model.
He holds a PhD in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology (IT); Master of Science in Electronics Engineering and IT; and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and IT from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is a Professional Computer and IT Engineer registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) and is a member of the Institution of Engineers (IET). His main research areas cover Financial Technology innovations, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) and Cryptocurrency monitoring and regulatory approaches.
