Vice Chairperson at Tanzania Fintech Association (TAFINA)/ Cofounder & COO at Tembo Plus (a Fintech)

Reuben, a Pan-African banker turned fintech champion, is the co-founder and Chief Operations Officer at Tembo, a fintech platform that empowers partners to seamlessly integrate financial services into their offerings. He firmly believes that meaningful financial inclusion can be achieved through collaborative efforts involving banks, businesses, fintech companies, and mobile money operators.

As the first Vice Chairperson of Tanzania Fintech Association (TAFINA), Reuben, played an active role in establishing  and expanding the association as an apex network of fintech players and stakeholders in Tanzania as an extension of his role at TAFINA, Reuben, seats in the board of directors of the Africa Fintech Network (AFN), a top pan african fintech association.

A decade before co-founding Tembo, Reuben held key roles in the pan african banking sector. He was a Head of Corporate Banking at Ecobank, He spearheaded the payments business at Barclays, and played a leading role in building the payments business at Exim Bank covering a few countries in Africa. He also led NALA in securing key partnerships and licenses across African countries, cementing his pan african business acumen and strengthening meaningful networks across the continent.

As a thought leader in the space, Reuben has been part of a series of programs, panel discussions and events led by Bill & melinda Gates Foundation, UNCDF, SeedStars Ventures, Sahara Ventures, University of Dar es salaam and Other Organisers: He has also authored numerous articles covering the future of banks and fintech in Africa, the evolving role of mobile money agents, Interoperability in the financial services sector, and strategies for building futuristic tech businesses. His thought provoking articles have garnered a significant following on LinkedIn, cementing his thought leadership in the African financial inclusion space.
