Research, Data & Insights

To support financial service providers, policymakers, regulators, and other players in the financial sector in identification of market opportunities, development of appropriate financial solutions, and implementation of cost-effective delivery models, as well as appropriate regulatory frameworks.

Generation of data and insights from research are key inputs into designing and development of financial solutions

Hence, they lead to an increased number of Financial Sector Services Providers developing and scaling innovative and responsive financial solutions and tools for women and youth to promote equality, improvement of livelihood, and economic empowerment. On the other hand, data and insights are used as evidence to advocate for improved policies, legal and regulatory frameworks that promote gender equality, as well as economic and financial opportunities for women and youth.

We work to improve the availability and usage of research, data, and insights in the financial sector to inform interventions.

To achieve this goal, we disseminate our research findings, including the Ecosystem Analysis to Drive Financial Inclusion for Women and Youth in Tanzania 2023, FinScope Tanzania 2023, Diagnosis of Informal and Micro-urban Street Traders and Vendors in Tanzania, and IBUA. Additionally, we facilitate demand-driven applied research, policy and regulatory analysis reports, and national surveys, such as the MSME Survey.

We also develop and scale up our financial sector data and information hub and knowledge management systems. This is implemented in collaboration with policymakers, regulators, academia, development partners, private sector organizations and research houses.
